Lead partner of the project “Cycling" successfully presented the project and the first results of research work at the IV International Cycling Congress in St. Petersburg, taking place on the 28-30 of March, 2019.
The second day of the IV International Cycling Congress was rich in memorable presentations, speeches and events.
Already in the first half of the day an active program in the form of excursions and workshops awaited participants and guests of the congress.
In the second half of the day, the program continued with discussions, round tables and presentations about the past, present and future of cycling in St. Petersburg, development of the bicycle industry in Russia, role of business in the development of cycling culture, regulatory framework of the development of cycling infrastructure and experience of small cities in the development of cycling, as well as interesting projects implemented on their territory.
Olga Potiforova, the representative of the Lead Partner of the project “Cycling”, presented the project and the first results of the research work carried out in the framework of the project in the section “Small Cities” of the congress.
The basic information about the project was complemented with insights gained during the research, including those on the level of development of cycling infrastructure and routes in border areas, safety of cycling when approaching BCPs on the Russian-Finnish border, potential of the territory for the development of cycle tourism, places of attraction and more.
