Lead partner of the project «Cycling» attended a seminar in the framework of the fellow project «BizCycle»

Last week the Committee of the Leningrad Region for Tourism hosted an interactive seminar as a part of implementation of the CBC project «BizCycle».

On behalf of the lead partner of the project «Cycling», the Directorate, the event attended project manager Yuri Pavlov.

The seminar began with greetings from the Head of the Committee of the Leningrad Region for Tourism Rimma Sachunova and continued with introduction of all the participants and main information about implementation of the project «BizCycle».

Representative of the Tourist Information Center of the Leningrad Region Olga Golubeva told the audience about cross border cooperation, goals and activities of the project «BizCycle».

Yuri Pavlov elaborated on cross border cooperation with the presentation of the project «Cycling». As part of the research work in the framework of the project «Cycling» in present time the lead partner’s contractor drafts the concept of development of cycling tourism in the Leningrad Region.

Participants of the seminar discussed development of cycling tourism in Russia and the Leningrad Region, current plans on development of cycling infrastructure in border areas of Russia and Finland and prospects of introduction of electronic visas.

The interactive part of the event included discussion of criteria and recommendations for development of cycling tourism. As a result of collaborative work, teams of participants presented their proposals on creation of effective model of development of cycling tourism in the Leningrad Region.

On behalf of the lead partner we would like to thank the team of the project «BizCycle» and the Committee of the Leningrad Region for Tourism for the invitation and organization. The seminar confirmed once again great importance of cooperation and coordination of activities of the two related CBC projects.
